Chaka Khan believes she will record music with Sam Smith "very soon".

The singers have previously spoken about their admiration for each other.

In a new interview with The Mirror, music legend Khan said that their schedules are the main reason why they have not yet collaborated.

She said: "Sam Smith and I are really good friends and he would have been here tonight [in London earlier this week] had it not been for the fact he has just started his own tour.

“We’ve been talking and talking and talking for a long time, and we are set to do something together. We even spoke about how he was going to come on stage and we’d sing 'Love Me Still' together, but we will be going to a recording studio very soon.

"But he’s as bad as I am, he doesn’t know when his good dates are and I don’t know when my good dates are to meet and record. But we will definitely get there soon and record together."
