The father of Briana Jungwirth has confirmed that the 23-year-old is expecting a baby with One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson.

It has been widely reported that the boyband man is due to become a father for the first time with the Los Angeles based stylist.

While there has been no official confirmation from Tomlinson, Jungwirth's dad Joe told the Daily Mail that the news is a "shock", but exciting.

He said: "It's the first kid in our family, this will be the first grandkid. Yeah we're excited about it, Briana is doing great I guess.

"It's a bit of a shock, you know, they're kids, stuff happens, but I'm supporting her. I love her to death and it's all good."

Her stepmother meanwhile added to the newspaper: "I'm distressed for all the c**p I've read online in the middle of the night.

"I just hope all this doesn't ruin her life, I care about that, we are at the beginning of something and she's a private person, she's not a Facebook person or anything like that.

"This is really scary for someone in her condition, especially when she's only 23, I think it's pretty overwhelming."
