Jason Derulo on Jordin Sparks split: 'I don't think I've experienced true love yet'

Singer Jason Derulo has opened up about his split from Jordin Sparks in a new interview with DuJour magazine.

The 'Want To Want Me' hitmaker confessed that he doesn't think he was really genuinely in love with Sparks because he believes that true love creates an unbreakable bond:

"I think everything happens for a reason. I think I was in that relationship for a reason, and I don’t regret anything, but at the same time I know how good it feels to be on my own right now. It’s pretty clear that I’m not ready for that. I’m just not in the right space. I think true love can never be broken, so I don’t think that I have found true love."

Referring to why they split, the star admitted that there was just some friction between them that couldn't be dispelled: "There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that... When you stop having more good times than bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy."

Sparks, meanwhile, has moved on with new boyfriend Sage The Gemini and recently confessed that he's already calling her his wife: "It's very early, but I'm not the type of person who stays in a relationship if I can't see it going further than a casual relationship. I could see marriage, but we haven't really planned anything. He does call me his wife, though."
