James Franco has written a 100 page book about Lana Del Rey

Hollywood actor and creative James Franco is releasing a book about sultry songstress Lana Del Rey

This unusual project, which is 100 pages long, was co-authored by writer David Shields and is entitled 'Flip-Side: Real And Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey'.

The book's cover, which can be seen below, features photographs of James Franco, Lana Del Rey, her sister Chuck Grant, and MoMA director Klaus Biesenbach at New York’s Fort Tilden beach in July 2014.

'Flip-Side: Real And Imaginary Conversations With Lana Del Rey' will be published by Penguin Random House on March 15, 2016 and is available for pre-order now for $22.50

Back in January, Franco explained to V magazine that he told Del Rey that he had plans to write a book on her: "I wanted to interview Lana for a book and she said, 'Just write around me, it's better if it's not my own words. It's almost better if you don't get me exactly, but try.'"

Franco also confessed that Del Rey has an idea for a movie that he wants to help out with: "She has this idea for a film. I want to do it because it's a little like Sunset Boulevard. A woman is alone in a big house in L.A. She doesn't want to go out. She starts to go crazy, and becomes paranoid because she feels like people are watching her. Even in her own house. It's like an awesome B-movie that lives in Lana's head. It's about her, and it's not about her. Just like her music."
