Ryan Murphy on Lady Gaga's 'AHS' role: 'She acts out a nefarious plan'

Creative masterminds Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk were at the Television Critics Association today and shed a little light on the character that Lady Gaga has been hired to play on their forthcoming new season of 'American Horror Story: Hotel'.

Murphy revealed that the 'Born This Way' sensation will begin filming next Monday and is set to play Elizabeth, the hotel's owner. He said: "She is a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art, fashion and people and she has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the season."

He went onto add that the series is set in Los Angeles: "We were really inspired by the ideal of this hotel surveillance video that showed girl getting into elevator in haunted hotel and who was never seen again." The series is due to begin on October 7 on FX and this new 13-episode season runs through the end of January.

Actor Finn Wittrock also admitted that his character will be closely linked to Gaga: “I’m playing a male model named Tristan Duffy who’s always looking for the next high. And I think he sort of finds his biggest high in Lady Gaga, and they have a lot to do together. She sees all of me.”
