Over the weekend, Annie Lennox's daughter Tali and her boyfriend Ian Jones were kayaking at the Staatsburgh State Historic Site in Upstate New York on Saturday morning when their tandem kayak capsized. 

Tali was rescued by a passing vessel, but her boyfriend was unaccounted for. She has now sadly confirmed his death in a moving Instagram post, which reads:

"My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me. All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honour & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."

A statement was also released from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office confirming the discovery of a body near to the site of the accident last night (August 10):

"Just after 12:00 pm on 8/10/15 a human male body was located in the Hudson River near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club. The body has been removed, and is scheduled to undergo an autopsy on Tuesday 8/11/15 to determine the cause of death and identification. The body matches the description of Mr. Ian Jones, who has been missing in the Hudson River since the morning of Saturday 8/8/15 after a kayaking accident."
