Kendrick Lamar has been confirmed as the first musical guest on Stephen Colbert's debut Late Show episode.

The former Colbert Report man is taking over David Letterman's iconic show from September 8.

Lamar, who released his latest album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' earlier this year, will be the first music guest on the show.

The rapper was the final musical guest on the host's previous show, The Colbert Report.

Pavement recently said that they had been asked to reunite for the programme, but that was later denied.
