Brandon Flowers cancels the remainder of U.S. solo tour

Musician Brandon Flowers has surprised fans by cancelling the next week of shows on his U.S. tour

The star has been out on a solo tour of north America and will no longer perform live at his scheduled Charlotte, Raleigh, Norfolk, Atlanta, Orlando and Miami concerts due to "unforeseen circumstances".

Flowers’ publicist has now confirmed that his remaining shows in September and October are moving ahead as planned. These dates will kick off on September 2 at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, California. The final show is set for October 1 in Texas.

The musician recently told Q magazine that while his solo career has been successful to date, he still feels as though he has to 'convert' gig goers into fans: "I'm now in a position where I can reach out to artists whose work I adore. But even at a sold-out show, I'll still be thinking there might be some people I need to convert. For me, it's all about the show. I appreciate that with some bands you don't know what you're going to get and that's the excitement of it. But it shouldn't be frowned upon to do something consistently. We aim to please."
