Jordin Sparks: 'I take 21 days to get over a relationship then I move on'

Songstress Jordin Sparks has revealed that she allows herself exactly 21 days to grieve a relationship after a break-up and she learned this strategy from her mother.

During a new interview with On Air with Seacrest this morning (August 14), the beauty explained that when she split from Jason Derulo she was upset for a while and once the time limit was up, she simply moved on and left her negative feelings in the past:

"You definitely want to go through the emotions and things like that and feel, but you can’t just stay in that place because life goes on. So that’s what I did. I gave myself 21 days from whenever it was, and I woke up and I was like, ‘Ok, I’m moving on. I gave it all the tears and all the feelings, but now it’s time to move on and that’s that.'”

Her forthcoming new album, entitled 'Right Here Right Now', is due to be officially released on August 21 and she added that she can't wait for her fans to hear it: "It’s definitely been a while, and now it’s a week until it comes out. I’m so excited! Finally, finally, finally I have new music coming out, and I just am so proud of it.”
