Canadian sensation Shawn Mendes is celebrating another career milestone today after learning that his single 'Life Of The Party' has now been certified Platinum in the United States of America. 

Platinum certification in the USA, according to the RIAA, means that a single has shifted 1,000,000 copies and writing about the amazing news on his official Instagram page, the heartthrob explained that he is overwhelmed and honoured:

"Found out that Life Of The Party went platinum in America last night. So unreal. Thank you so so so much. You guys are absolutely incredible. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen at Island and to Andrew. Couldn't of done it without your help. But most of all THANK YOUUUU!! I LOVE YOU!!"

Mendes, meanwhile, was recently nominated for the Breakthrough Artist category at this year's Streamy Awards. He will go up against the likes of Austin Mahone, Tori Kelly, MAX, and Rachel Platten for the title. The 'Stitches' hitmaker also just won the Choice Web Star: Music at the Teen Choice Awards.
