Rachel Platten's single 'Fight Song' heading for UK No.1 position

American singer-songwriter Rachel Platten leads the race for this week’s Official Singles Chart Number 1 with 'Fight Song'.

The track, which has already reached the Top 10 in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Belgium, first entered the UK Top 100 at No.68 last week (based on streams alone) and currently leads its nearest competitor, Charlie Puth’s 'Marvin Gaye' ft. Meghan Trainor (2) by over 8,000 combined sales.

'Fight Song' was co-written by Platten and Dave Bassett (The Veronicas, Josh Groban) and serves as the lead single from the singer’s upcoming new album.

Elsewhere, Felix Jaehn’s Jasmine Thompson collaboration 'Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)' - a remix of Rufus & Chaka Khan’s 1983 hit 'Ain’t Nobody' – is at No.3 and is set to score the German producer/DJ his first Official Chart Top 10 as a lead artist this week. His remix of OMI’s 'Cheerleader' spent four weeks at Number 1 back in May this year.

Current chart-topper, Jess Glynne with 'Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself', slides three places to No.4 today, followed by Calvin Harris & Disciples’ 'How Deep Is Your Love' at No.5. Following her performance at V Festival last weekend, Ella Eyre could be on course to score a seventh UK Top 40 on Friday with her new single 'Good Times' (28), as Rita Ora’s 'Body On Me' ft. Chris Brown climbs 12 places today to re-enter the Update Top 40.

Hozier’s 'Take Me To Church' and Jess Glynne’s 'Hold My Hand' both also re-enter today’s Official Singles Chart Update Top 40, up six and five places, respectively.
