Nick Grimshaw on 1D's hiatus: 'They're men now and need a break'

TV and radio personality Nick Grimshaw has spoken out about One Direction's upcoming break and confessed that they must be completely exhausted.

During a new interview with The Guardian's Weekend magazine, the 'X Factor' judge revealed that the lads deserve some downtime because they need to experience normality for a while and rest after such an incredible 5 years:

"People think being a pop star is glamorous but it's exhausting and disorienting at their level. They don't see the world, they just do press in different cities. They're men now and they need to experience some actual life. Everyone takes breaks. Katy Perry's off at the moment. No one's crying."

Grimshaw also hit out at celebrity culture and confessed that it's annoying when people are obsessed with fame for no specific reason: "It's fine to take an interest but I hate it when people say 'I love celebs'. What does that mean? You must love something specific about them. I hate that my niece loves Kylie Jenner. It's just perpetuating that moronic Kardashian thing."
