Producer Naughty Boy has addressed the tension between himself and former One Direction singer Zayn Malik and joked that they did push it a little by taking so many photos of themselves hanging out and posting them online. 

During a new interview with KISS FM, the hitmaker explained that he isn't too bothered at the fall out between himself and Zayn Malik because the press attention their friendship was getting drove him up the wall:

"No (we're not speaking right now). But it's not the worst thing because to be honest, like that whole thing is like a circus. And the whole first half of this year I was caught up in something, you know, I want to be known for my music. I want my songs to be famous."

"There's a lot of love. I think it's like a private matter that became public. You know? In hindsight we did tweet a bit too many pictures together as well."

"You get dragged in to something that, you know... Like when he left the band, I think the people just needed a scapegoat and it just... It looked like he left to work with me. And I think that took its toll on our friendship as well. Because it was difficult time for him and the band obviously, like someone leaving. Maybe I didn't realise the magnitude of it because I'm in my own little bubble.''
