Hitmaker and producer Naughty Boy has confessed that he did miss former One Direction star Zayn Malik once their friendship ended because they were quite close. 

The pair had a strong bond for quite some time, but things came to a head on social media and they soon called it quits and decided to no longer speak to each other. When asked by The Guardian newspaper if he missed hanging out with Malik, Naughty Boy replied:

"I did, for a bit, not gonna lie. I was literally always at his house or here (at my studio)... Our friendship was genuine, 100 per cent. I don't think we actually fell out over the lack of friendship or trust, I think it was external influences."

He went onto add that it would be great if the public could see how talented Malik is and he's looking forward to seeing how the young heartthrob's solo career pans out, even if now isn't the right time for him to reach out to the singer:

"I don't think now's the time. I think Zayn's incredibly talented and his voice is amazing and the world doesn't know that yet. The world doesn't know how gifted he actually is, so I think the best thing for him to do now is to go a bit radio silent and let the music do the talking."
