Jay Z comments on the wait for Rihanna's next album

Jay Z has revealed why fans are having to wait longer than usual for Rihanna’s new album.

The Roc Nation records boss spoke to Vanity Fair as part of a cover story on the ‘American Oxygen’ star.

Since the release of her 2005 debut album, ‘Music of the Sun’, Rihanna has put out an album every year up until 2012’s ‘Unapologetic’. Since then, fans have been waiting for a new LP from the singer who has unveiled a few singles, but is yet to confirm any album details.

Speaking about the hold up, Jay Z told Vanity Fair: “She wants it to be perfect.”

The ’99 Problems’ rapper also pointed out how much success Rihanna has achieved in a short amount of time: “What took me 15 or 20 years to get has taken her ten, and will take the next person five years. It’s great to be able to help fight that fight.”

The Vanity Fair article also revealed that Rihanna has signed a new deal that allows her to own all of her music and that her future releases will come via her own company called Westbury Road.
