Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding have been added to the bill for this year's MTV EMAs.

The singers will hit the stage at the event in Milan on October 25.

Sheeran will double-up duties as co-host, which he is doing alongside actress Ruby Rose.

US star Jason Derulo will also perform on the night, joining a bill that already features Pharrell Williams.

All three male performers will face off in the Best Male category alongside Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

Rudimental and Twenty One Pilots are also scheduled to perform on the night.

Taylor Swift dominates the nominations for the ceremony, with the singer sitting on a record nine nods.
