Take That and U2 are set to perform on TFI Friday relaunch

Take That and U2 are scheduled to perform on the first episode of TFI Friday's comeback series.

The popular Channel 4 programme is returning to UK TV screens from Friday (October 16).

Take That and U2 will provide live music as Chris Evans hosts the show once again.

The presenter commented: "It wouldn't be the first episode of TFI without one of the biggest bands in the world, if not the biggest.

"We're over the moon that we've got U2 on the show. They're coming in specially, flying straight from a show in Antwerp and straight back to Cologne, making the time just for us, and we certainly plan to make the most of it.‎"

Slaves, Steve Coogan and actress Saoirse Ronan will also make an appearance.

TFI Friday will return for ten episodes following a successful one-off comeback earlier this year.
