X Factor's Ben Haenow wanting Ed Sheeran collaboration

'X Factor' winner Ben Haenow has revealed that he is very keen to work with singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran in the future, despite rejecting a song the superstar penned for his debut album.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz about cutting Sheeran's song from his record, he explained that it was just a matter of wanting to make his first offering as personal as possible:

"The reason behind it really was because we felt like we had songs on there which got across my story, rather than just taking songs off other people. I'm absolutely honoured that he sent a song through, and it could be one of the worst ideas we've ever had, but realistically, with regards to what we had as the shape of the album, it just didn't really fit in there. To re-jig an album over one song wouldn't be great."

Haenow added that he would love to collaborate with Sheeran in the future and hopes they will be able to coordinate their schedules at some point: "I'd be honoured to work with him in the future. The whole point is, I kind of wanted to get into the studio with Ed and write something with him, that's what we wanted to do. But he's been off in America doing his stuff, we're on different time scales."
