Prince looks set to tour the UK next month with a solo show.

Reports of the US star hitting the road in Europe in November and December have circulated this week.

It is said Prince will play with just a piano and microphone during a live run that will open in Austria on 21 November.

The reports added that he will play four shows in the UK in December in cities such as Glasgow and Birmingham.

Prince seemingly backed the speculation today (November 10) as his official Twitter account posted photos of the reports and internet interest.

It is said the singer held a press conference in the US at weekend in which he revealed plans to embark on the stripped-back tour.

He reportedly said: "Why do this now? For several reasons. For starters it is a challenge.

"I rarely get bad reviews because this is something that's been perfected for over 30 years.

"You have to try new things. With the piano it is more naked, more pure. You can see exactly what you get."

Prince released the full band album 'HITnRUN phase one' in September.

The record followed series of guerilla gigs in the UK held in 2014.
