ITV has confirmed it will broadcast The Voice from 2017

The Voice will be shown in the UK on ITV from 2017.

The broadcaster confirmed the news today (November 23) after current home BBC lost out on its rights.

ITV will also show The Voice Kids in addition to the main programme.

Director of TV Peter Fincham said there is a place for both The Voice and the X Factor on the network.

He said: "ITV is the natural home of big entertainment so we are thrilled that The Voice and The Voice Kids are both joining our family alongside brilliant shows like The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here."

The X Factor has been the subject of speculation about its future for months.

However, ITV previously confirmed plans to air the series again in 2016.

The Voice meanwhile will have its last broadcast on BBC early next year, with Boy George and Paloma Faith joining remaining panel members will.i.am and Ricky Wilson.
