Damon Albarn says rumours of Adele feud are 'not even true'

Damon Albarn has denied there being a rift between himself and Adele over comments he made about her new music.

Earlier this year, the Blur frontman spoke to The Sun about working with Adele on music that did not make the cut for her new album ‘25’.

At the time, Albarn called the ‘Hello’ star “very insecure” and her latest compositions “very middle of the road”.

Adele voiced her reaction to Albarn’s remarks when speaking to Rolling Stone. She said: “It ended up being one of those 'don't meet your idol' moments. The saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him.”

The Gorillaz musician has now claimed that the story has been overstated by the press.

Damon told Time Out London: “It’s not even true. It’s amazing how people will run with stuff that has no credence whatsoever and turn it into something and then watch the reaction.”

Adele continues to break records with her comeback music. ‘25’ has become the fastest-selling album in American music history by selling over 2.43 million copies in just four days – breaking the record previously held by *NSYNC’s 2000 ‘No Strings Attached’ LP.
