Louisa Johnson on X Factor win: 'I can't get my head around it'

This year’s X Factor winner, Louisa Johnson, has given her first in-depth interview since being crowned victor of the music talent show.

Louisa Johnson was voted the winner of the X Factor last weekend ahead of Reggie and Bollie, and is currently in competition with Justin Bieber for the Christmas No. 1 spot on the UK singles chart.

In her first post X Factor interview, 17-year-old Louisa has told Notion Magazine that she is still yet to comprehend her winning title:

“It’s crazy, I mean it’s been my dream for the whole time it’s been on TV basically. I’ve watched it ever since it started and to win it, it’s just… mental. I can’t get my head around it, I can’t, I’ve not come to grips with it at all.”

17-year-old Johnson also revealed the best piece of advice she received from her mentor Rita Ora:

“She said to me, ‘Don’t read anything. Keep your head at the same level. Focus on yourself.’ I think that’s really worked for me, it’s so true.”

On her relationship with Ora, Louisa said: “We’ve really grown so much together and I feel like we’ve bonded a lot… I will definitely stay in touch with her.”

Louisa Johnson’s debut single ‘Forever Young’ managed to crack into the Top Ten after being on sale for only 24 hours and is in the running to hit No. 1 later this week.
