Jess Glynne has revealed her vocal surgery was 'terrifying'

Jess Glynne has spoken of her experience of undergoing vocal surgery.

The singer had an operation to remove a polyp from her vocal cords in the summer.

She was forced to cancel live shows and sit out of promotional duties.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Glynne said the operation was one of the scariest things she's ever had to endure.

The Brit said: "It's probably one of the most terrifying things I've gone through. I basically damaged the muscles on my vocal cords and the only way to recover was to have them operated on.

"Sam Smith, who had the same thing, gave me great advice...In every operation there's a risk, whatever they say. They can never 100 per cent you're gonna be better."

Glynne has since recovered from the operation, which placed her under three weeks of voice rest.
