Shawn Mendes reaches No.1 on the UK singles chart

Justin Bieber's UK singles chart reign looks set to come to an end this week at the hands of Shawn Mendes.

The 21-year-old has lorded the list for the last 12 weeks through his tracks 'Love Yourself', 'Sorry' and 'What Do You Mean?'.

However, the Official Charts Company confirmed today (January 18) that Mendes' 'Stitches' is No.1 on its midweek update.

It is just 621 copies ahead of Bieber's 'Love Yourself'.

At No.3 is Bieber's 'Sorry', with Adele's 'Hello' up four places to No.4.

Rounding off the top five is One Direction's 'History', which rises one place.

The 1975 meanwhile debut at No.13 with new effort 'The Sound'.

Little Mix’s 'Secret Love Song' is one of this week's biggest risers, jumping 16 places to No.18.

That rise is dwarved by Nathan Sykes' 'Over And Over Again', however, which is up 90 places to No.34 after a new version featuring Ariana Grande was released.
