Shawn Mendes looks set to hold on to the UK No.1 single

Shawn Mendes is in pole position to retain his spot at the top of the UK singles chart.

The Canadian reached No.1 on Friday (January 22) with his song 'Stitches'.

The Official Charts Company confirmed today (January 25) that the tune is still top of the pile.

It is currently 6,000 units ahead of its nearest rival, Justin Bieber's 'Love Yourself'.

At No.3 on the midweek update is Jonas Blue & Dakota's 'Fast Car', which rises from No.61.

Bieber's 'Sorry' drops one place to No.4, with Snakehips' 'All My Friends' rounding off the top five.

Jason Derulo's 'Get Ugly' is up from No.57 to No.20, while Alessia Cara jumps 22 places to No.27.

Marcus Butler and Conor Maynard's 'I'm Famous' meanwhile debuts at No.35.
