Bring Me The Horizon on smashing Coldplay's table at NME Awards

Bring Me The Horizon singer Oli Sykes says he didn't intend to target Coldplay when he broke their table at this week's NME Awards.

The vocalist turned heads at the London ceremony on February 17 by standing on their table during a performance.

It ended up breaking, with drinks falling and Coldplay left confused by what was going on.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Sykes said "it wasn't meant to be Chris Martin's table at all".

He added: "It was one of them things where you're going to have to make an impression somehow.

"It wasn't a dirty protest."

Bring Me The Horizon were given the Innovation Award at the event.
