Supermodel Kate Moss injured during ski accident in Swiss Alps

Kate Moss has been injured during an accident whilst staying at the posh ski resort of Gstaad in Switzerland.

The British supermodel, who has split from husband Jamie Hince - guitarist for the rock duo The Kills - is a regular vistior to the jet-set town of Gstaad.

She is currently being treated under medical supervision in a Swiss hospital and it is unclear when she is likely to be discharged.

The fashion icon was set to fly into Toronto this coming Monday (February 22) for the opening of Saks Fifth Avenue, but has had to cancel due to doctors banning her from flying. The model had been set to appear as an ambassador for the luxury skin-care line Decorté and then do an in-store meet and greet.

Moss has issued the following statement:

“It is with great disappointment that I must postpone my trip to be a part of the Decorté and Saks Fifth Avenue launch celebration due to an injury whilst skiing in Switzerland. I am currently under medical care which prohibits me to fly overseas for now.”

The English beauty first rose to fame in the 1990s due to her waifish figure, but constantly made headlines outside of fashion for her lavish lifestyle and partying.

In 2013 she received an award at the British Fashion Awards acknowledging her contribution to fashion for over 25 years.
