The Cranberries singer fined for head-butting policeman

The Cranberries singer, Dolores O'Riordan, has been fined 6,000 euros (£4,690) for head-butting a police officer after an alleged air rage incident.

The 'Linger' singer was arrested at Shannon Airport in the Republic of Ireland after being forcibly removed from a flight from New York. The event took place in November 2014.

During the incident, O'Riordan told police officers that she was the 'Queen of Limerick and an 'icon.'

Since then she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and a medical report was presented stating that she had been in a manic episode during the event.

Last December she pleaded guilty to three assault charges, as well as another charge for obstructing a police officer.

The Cranberries sold more than 40 million albums. O'Riordon was recently the coach for The Voice Ireland replacing Sharon Corr, and has more than 20 years' experience in the music business.
