Halsey on critical fans: 'It's like, 'who the f**k are you to say that?''

'New Americana' sensation Halsey, real name Ashley Frangipane, has revealed that while she loves talking to her fans online it can be hard when they feel entitled to have strong opinions on her.

During a new interview with Billboard, the star admitted that she enjoys the interactions she has with her followers for the most part and wants to treat them as equals, but sometimes struggles when she feels attacked or unfairly criticised:

“I talk to them like real f---ing human beings, because they are. But then there’s also a sense of entitlement, where they feel like they have the right to chastise me like they would a friend. And sometimes you want to be like, ‘Who the f--- are you to say that?’"

Halsey, meanwhile, recently spoke about confidence and confessed that she gets her self-worth from her intelligence and sexuality: “I’ve learned to pull confidence out of myself like I’m f**king siphoning water from ten feet beneath the soil. My confidence grew from being intelligent, from being sexual. Put me on stage in front of 100,000 people if you want. You can’t scare me.”
