Australian rocker Nick Cave has exclusively announced plans to write and record a new Bad Seeds album.

In an interview with spinnermusic.com, he said:

“There will be a new Bad Seeds record next year.”

‘Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!’ was the band’s last release back in 2008 and Cave explained that although no material has been created, it is very much in the pipeline:

“I’ve got to write one, haven't written anything yet, but that's not how I go about things anyway. I have the starting date for the next record and that's when I go into the office and start it. I'm not doing that until I've finished the Grinderman tour, which is amazing. The band is something else.”
