Joe Jonas says that he will be taking an unexpected direction on his upcoming first solo studio album.

The Jonas Brother is moving away from the trademark pop/rock his group is known for and going for something a bit more danceable.

It didn’t start out this way, however, as Joe reveals, he originally saw himself as more of a crooner, saying to In Style magazine: "I began writing it with a Michael Buble mentality, but now I'm switching gears a bit."

Without revealing too much, Jonas did admit to working with electropop singer and producer FrankMusik, saying: "He's awesome. We've gone through a couple of different sounds."
