Lionel Richie reveals what back-up career plan might have been

'All Night Long' sensation Lionel Richie has revealed that if he wasn't a world-famous music star he would probably be working with interior design.

During an interview with Us Weekly magazine, as part of its 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me feature, the icon explained that his other career path would have been to do with design because he is passionate about it:

"If I didn’t spend my career singing, I would have been a landscape architect or interior designer."

Richie continued: "I’m addicted to design magazines. And I’m a collector of fireplaces. I joined the Commodores while I was in college. I told my dad I would drop out of school to join a band that would become ’the black Beatles’."
