Prince still recovering after medical emergency and plane landing

American superstar Prince is recovering at home after making an emergency plane landing yesterday (April 15).

The incident happened shortly after the star had performed a gruelling 19-song headlining set at Atlanta's Fox Theatre.

The Grammy Award-winning performer was transported to a hospital in Illinois after an ongoing case of flu which he'd already been battling for some time, worsened during mid-flight.

As a result his plane was forced to make an unexpected landing at Quad City International Airport, where medics were called in to help.

Eventually the legendary singer-songwriter was released and flew back home, where he is currently recovering. No further reports have since been issued.

Prince commenced his Piano and a Microphone solo tour in Australia on February 16.

His first show took place at Melbourne's State Theatre. He made a touching tribute that night after just hearing about the death of Denise Matthews, aka Vanity, his ex-girlfriend from the early ‘80s.
