Taylor Swift has opened up about living alone, saying she loves it because she likes to have conversations with herself.

The 20-year-old country star is living alone for the first time and says she loves her new freedom:  "Living alone you can do so many fantastic things,” she explains.

"You can walk around and have conversations with yourself and, like, sing your thoughts. I think I'm the only one who does that."

The ‘Speak Now’ star is only turning 21 next week, but already boasts a lavish pad that includes a fish pond in the living room and a birdcage-shaped conservatory. She tells US talk show host Chelsea Handler that she isn’t planning on having any wild parties at her place, saying: "I have the deeply engrained fear of getting into trouble and being sent to the principal's office of life."
