Custom Nike trainers have been made in honour of Prince

Prince has been honoured with a custom pair of Nike trainers.

The musician passed away on Thursday (April 21) aged just 57.

Mache Customs, who have made custom shoes with the likes of Kanye West, has paid tribute to the late star with a one-off pair of Nike trainers.

The Nike Air Classic BW footwear has been given a purple makeover, with the words 'Purple Rain' and his logo emblazoned on the heel.

However, the trainers will not go on general sale.

Company boss Dan Gamache said: "These are my tribute to him and I just feel like profiting off a persons death doesn't seem right."

As previously reported, Prince's brother-in-law has claimed that the musician didn't sleep for over six days before he died.

It will take at least a month before the cause of death is determined.
