The Band Perry's 'Live Forever' chosen as U.S. Olympic team's official song

The 2016 Summer Olympics is fast approaching with the opening ceremony set for August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the U.S. team has now chosen its official song for the games.

They have selected the Band Perry’s anthemic 2015 single 'Live Forever' as their soundtrack and the group celebrated the exciting news by performing it live yesterday (April 27) on NBC’s Today in New York City.

Songstress Kimberly Perry explained that they're proud that the song was chosen: “‘Live Forever’ is really about those moments that make you think you’re going to live forever. That’s really is the spirit of the Olympics.” She also tweeted about the news and wrote: "So much FUN on the @TODAYshow! #LiveForever is the official song for Team USA?? What?? #dreamscometrue #RoadtoRio #olympics2016."
