Becky G on album pressure: 'There's always this expectation'

'Shower' hitmaker Becky G has opened up about her album plans in a new interview with Teen Vogue magazine.

Despite having found success with several singles, she is yet to release a full-length offering and told the publication that she finds the pressure to deliver a little unnerving:

“The funny thing with the word ‘album’…there’s always this expectation. Once you get signed to a record label, there’s a pressure to get an album out, constantly have new music out."

She went onto confirm that she is now ready "to make music that will be worthy of the first Becky G album," and added that she thinks waiting for the right time to approach the project was smart because she wasn't open enough a few years ago: "I couldn’t write about love or heartbreak, things that are real to me now.”

"It’s actually music in Spanish that I’ve been focusing on... The music I’ve been doing in English lately has been a little more pop-driven and the stuff in Spanish is going to be a bit more urban, a bit reggaeton-inspired so it will have that vibe. It’s exciting.”
