Celebrity photographer Matt Irwin has died at the age of 36.

The photographer, who began capturing images when he was 15 after a friend gave him a camera as a gift, unexpectedly passed away today and fans and celebrities alike have been paying tribute to him. 

Irwin has worked with the likes of One Direction, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus and Years & Years, and regularly updated his Instagram page with snapshots he had taken (examples below). 

Rapper Azealia Banks tweeted: "REST IN PEACE & LIGHT MATT IRWIN." Presenter Caroline Flack shared a photograph of Irwin via Instagram and accompanied it with the following caption: "Took this on dolphin day @mattirwinlondon..... you will always be the greatest resident of the Adonis hotel ..RIP."
