Nile Rodgers has secured a BBC music ambassador roleMusic icon Nile Rodgers has been named a BBC Music Day Ambassador. The 'Le Freak' hitmaker will attend BBC’s Music Day at the Eden Project in Cornwall on June 3, where he will join the likes of fellow ambassadors Duran Duran. Speaking about the exciting news, the star explained that he is honoured: “Music takes you to a place you go during the experience of it, and then after you experience it you are different. I'm proud to be a BBC Music Ambassador, to try and help a few someones to become different." BBC Music Editor James Stirling also gave a statement on Rodgers' new role, which reads: “Nile Rodgers knows a thing or two about music. For over five decades, his songs have made an incalculable amount of people happy. It is our absolute honour and pleasure to have him as our main Ambassador for BBC Music Day 2016."
