The nominees for this year's MuchMusic Video Awards were announced earlier today and leading the nominees are 'Hotline Bling' sensation Drake and songstress Alessia Cara, who earned themselves an impressive seven nods each. 

Other nominees include The Weeknd and 'Stitches' star Shawn Mendes, who have each scored six nominations. The Best Canadian Single of the Year prize will see the likes of Alessia Cara's 'Here,' Coleman Hell's '2 Heads' and Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' go head to head with Shawn Mendes' 'Stitches' and The Weeknd's 'Can't Feel My Face.'

There is also an International Artist of the Year award, which sees Adele, Rihanna, Kanye West, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift in the running. Gigi Hadid will host the ceremony, which is due to take place on June 19.
