Rapper Troy Ave has pleads not guilty to fatal shooting at TI gigRapper Troy Ave has pleaded not guilty to a series of charges connected to a fatal shooting at a recent TI concert. Ronald McPhatter died at the Irving Plaza venue in New York on Thursday after being shot. Troy Ave - real name Roland Collins - was charged with a number of offences, including attempted murder. Police may include a murder charge once tests are carried out on a gun used during the incident. Troy Ave is accused of "recklessly firing a gun five times in a crowded venue" before shooting himself in the leg. His defence lawyer, however, says someone else killed the man and shot the rapper in the leg. He said: "What really happened here is Mr Collins here is the real victim. "The person who was killed at this event, he died a hero. He was his bodyguard. He wasn't shot by Mr Collins. He was a lifelong friend." CCTV footage from the venue released by the NYPD showed Troy Ave entering the venue and shooting, prosecutors say. Follow us: @Pressparty on Twitter / Pressparty on Facebook.
