Paul Simon set to land first UK No.1 album in 26 years

Paul Simon is on course to bag his first No.1 album in the UK in nearly three decades.

The singer-songwriter has topped Monday's (June 6) midweek update with 'Stranger To Stranger'.

The US star last reached No.1 in the UK with 1990's 'The Rhythm Of The Saints'.

At No.2 on the midweek update is Drake's 'Views', with Coldplay's 'A Head Full Of Dreams' rising once place to No.3.

Bugzy Malone is a new entry at No.4 with 'Facing Time'.

Rounding of the midweek top five is Catfish and the Bottlemen's 'The Ride', which slips from No.1.

Volbeat are a new entry at No.8 with 'Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie', while The Kill's fifth record 'Ash & Ice' debuts at No.10.

Scottish band Fatherson are in at No.20 with 'Open Book', which rests three places above Tegan And Sara's new effort 'Love You To Death'.
