Singer and TV personality Mel B has revealed that the Spice Girls once staged an impromptu audition for Simon Cowell while they were trying to get signed. 

Speaking to America's Jimmy Fallon, Mel B explained that Cowell wasn't particularly enthusiastic about her girl group and even told her it "wouldn't work":

"Funny story: Spice Girls actually auditioned for (Simon). Not actually auditioned, we actually bamboozled him... He was coming out of work, and we kind of hijacked the car park that he was trying to get his car out of and just sung for him. And we were like, 'Look, we're gonna be famous one day. Can you sign us?' and he went, 'No, it's not gonna work.'"

As previously reported, Adele recently performed a cover of Spice Girls' 'Spice Up Your Life' and Mel B told journalists at a press conference for America's Got Talent that it was amazing to hear: "I'm very kind of flattered. I think all of us are. It's great. It leaves me speechless a little bit."
