Cassadee Pope on new EP 'Summer': 'I wanted to reintroduce myself'

Songstress Cassadee Pope, who won The Voice in the USA, to reintroduce myself, has released a new EP called 'Summer' and told Rolling Stone Country that she wanted "to reintroduce myself" after unveiling her debut album, entitled 'Frame By Frame' almost three years ago.

Speaking to the magazine about this new 4-track EP, Pope explained that she feels 'more focused':

"With Frame by Frame, the songs were just my favourite of the bunch. I was just writing whatever came to my head. Now, I feel like I have a bit more of a focused plan for my lyrics and what I want to say, and that's to empower people and show a little bit more of a complicated side of myself. I'm vulnerable but I'm also very confident and empowering. And I think these songs just really rounded out perfectly."

Referring to the EP's title track, Pope added: "The thing that I love about this song is that we didn't create a conflict when we were writing it. This isn't about a cheater or him doing something wrong or leaving without any say. It's just a summer romance that has to end at some point."
