Jay-Z and George Bush in best seller battle

Rapper Jay-Z’s new autobiographical book ‘Decoded’ has rocketed to number three on the New York Times’ best seller list.

The book, which was released last month, has been beaten to the top two by Laura Hillenbrand’s ‘Unbroken’ and former president George W. Bush’s memoirs ‘Decision Points’.

Jay-Z claims his book aims to convey messages in his songs more clearly, speaking to MTV News, he said: “I wanted people to have the proper context of rap, the generation, what we went though, these emotions behind these songs”

He added: ''The trouble is that while many enjoy listening to hip-hop, oftentimes they don't pick up on the stories being relayed in the songs.''
