Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Adam Lambert and Troye Sivan react to Dallas shootout

Britain has woken this morning to the horrific news that a deadly hour-long shootout by two suspected snipers in Dallas has taken place on a string of police officers. A fifth officer has now been pronounced dead as a result.

Eleven cops were shot after a sniper positioned himself in a second-floor garage in the city's downtown area and opened fire at the end of a protest in Dallas around 9pm last night (July 7). The protest was being held in the aftermath of both Alton Sterling and Philando Castile senselessly losing their lives recently at the hands of police brutality.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown said: "The suspect we're negotiating with ... has told our negotiators that the end is coming and he's going to hurt and kill more of us, meaning law enforcement, and that there are bombs all over the place and downtown, so we're being very careful with our tactics, so we don't put our officers in harm's way, or the citizens."

Brown later said at a press conference that he did not have complete comfort level that they had all the suspects, therefore a search in the downtown area was still continuing.
