Singer Geri Horner (née Halliwell) has revealed that hearing Adele reveal her admiration for the Spice Girls was a fantastic moment. 

She told Marie Claire magazine that it's great to know that Adele was inspired by their girl power message:

“She connected with us, she says, because we were just five ordinary girls who ‘got out,’. We all wanted to get out, stand up and be heard, be counted and have a voice that mattered… Our message screamed it for every girl… The Spice Girls is bigger than one, two, three, four, or five members. It belongs to us all."

During her Carpool Karaoke segment, Adele told James Corden: “It was girl power, and it was these five ordinary girls who did so well and got out. I was like, I want to get out. It was a really important period of my life."
