Sia, The 1975 and Justin Timberlake reach new UK sales milestones

The British Phonographic Industry shared its weekly awards this afternoon (July 15) and confirmed that some huge songs have now been certified Platinum in the UK.

Sia's 'Chandelier' is now double Platinum, which means that it has shifted 1,200,000 copies since it was released.

The 1975's single 'Chocolate' has achieved a milestone too, selling over 600,000 copies since its release, alongside Justin Timberlake's 'Can't Stop The Feeling' which has also reached the same level.

The BPI also confirmed that "‘The Getaway’ by the legends @ChiliPeppers has just gone Silver in the UK!!", Limp Bizkit's ‘New Old Songs' album has also been certified Silver, and Sir Cliff Richard's compilation ‘75 at 75’ is now Gold (400,000 copies).

The 1975, meanwhile, will perform live at London's O2 Arena this December and frontman Matt Healy recently told BBC Newsbeat that he doesn't like to think too much about getting on stage and prefers to just turn up and perform: "I can't have too much build up. It takes a lot for me to do this (perform) and sometimes I need to take it easy. I like to rock up, do it, and not think about it too much."
