'Rocky Horror Picture Show' reboot is "not designed to replace the original"

Singer Christina Milian has opened up about the highly anticipated reboot of 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' and explained that she and the rest of the cast just want to "pay homage" to the wildly loved original.

Milian, who plays Magenta in the remake, told Entertainment Tonight that it won't replace the 1975 movie, but will hopefully bring it to a new generation: "It's really fun to see all of us bring our own take to these characters, and also just pay homage to the original."

Reeve Carney, who plays Riff Raff, added: "We did our best to honour the original and bring a fresh take to it. It's not designed to replace the original. It's designed to bring more Rocky Horror family members into the fold."

Adam Lambert, who plays the role of Eddie in the remake, recently admitted that it was a bold move to make a new version because the original is iconic

"It's an incredible original film... It's shocking. Especially for then... when I was a kid and I first saw it, I was like 'can they do that?!' That was the thing - it is so iconic and such a cult hit that when I heard they were re-doing it, I was like 'ooh, that's a little risky, how are they going to do that?'"
