New 'Suicide Squad' trailer shows Jared Leto's Joker role in more depth

A new teaser trailer for the upcoming movie 'Suicide Squad' has been released and it shines a light on Jared Leto's portrayal of The Joker.

The film is scheduled for an August 5 release and the new footage shows Leto in a variety of scenes.

As previously reported, he told Entertainment Weekly that he took playing the part very seriously because the actors who have filled that role in the past have been incredible: "You’re kind of walking upon hallowed ground, and it deserves the very best that you can do. It takes over your life and that’s what I needed to do for myself.”

It sounds as though Leto has done The Joker justice because the film's director David Ayer told Total Film that when Leto shot his scenes, the crew got so into his performance that they would stop and watch him:

"What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating."
